A sauce used for baking

Ingredients

For 2 cups sauce

1 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

2 cups milk

1 tsp finely chopped onions

salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Heat the butter in a pan
  • Saute the onions
  • When the onions turn transparent, add the flour and saute till it turns light pink
  • Allow it to cool completely
  • Add the milk slowly to the flour and keep mixing so that there are no lumps
  • Return to the stove and cook on low flame till the sauce thickens
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
