A light snack made with string hoppers tossed with onions and green chillies

Ingredients

  • One packet instant idiyappam
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • a handful of peanuts
  • salt to taste
  • juice of one lemon
  • chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
  • Cook the idiyappam as per the instructions on the packet. Allow it to cool
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • Add the onions and green chilles and saute till the onions are transparent
  • Add the turmeric powder and salt.
  • Add the cooked idiyappam and gently toss.
  • Add the lemon juice and peanuts and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Serve with coconut or tomato or ginger chutney
