Description A light snack which can be served with breakfast or tea
Ingredients

1 cup semolina (sooji, rava)

1 cup chopped tomatoes

1/2 cup chopped onions

1 cup chopped mixed vegetables ( carrots,beans, peas)

2 green chillies chopped fine

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

4 tbsps oil

a few curry leaves
-
coriander leaves
-
lime juice (optional)

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

salt to taste
Method of Preparation
- Pour a teaspoon of oil in a kadai and roast the semolina till it turns light pink and then keep it aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the kadai.Â
- Add the mustard seeds.Â
- When the mustard seeds crackle, add the curry leaves, onions and green chillies.
- Saute till the onions turn translucent.
- Add the vegetables and tomatoes along with the turmeric powder and salt.
- Cook till the vegetables are almost done.
- Add three cups of water.Â
- When the water boils, add the semolina gradually, stirring continuously.Â
- Cover with a lid for a couple of minutes.Â
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Add the juice of half a lime. (optional)
- Serve with coconut chutney or tomato chutney
